Room Reveal: A Moody Bathroom (with a slat wall)

I love seeing a design come to life. I love trying new things. AND I love when ‘moody’ is in the design plan.

This bathroom is located in the basement and doesn’t have any windows near. With that in mind, trying to paint it light and bright (without actually getting any natural light) isn’t the way to go. Dark it is!

Here’s the before shot. You won’t believe this transformation!

Here were the goals for this space:

  • Use everything already owned for decor

  • Keep the materials cost low

  • Make a big impact/statement without breaking the bank

That’s it! Simple goals and extremely doable. The first thing on the list was paint and creating that slat accent wall.

This accent wall was created with 1x2 boards, a nail gun and a little paint. The total cost for the accent wall was under $90! Painting the wall and the vanity really defined this space. The countertop was also refinished (white) and looks brand new!

The mirror received a coat of spray paint, as did the light fixture. None of the decor is new! I love how that BOLD painting looks in this space. It’s just the pop of color it needs.

This bathroom was once a room that no one ever saw or wanted to see. Now, it’s a space all can enjoy and admire!

Small changes can make a big impact!

From my studio to yours,

Courtney
